This qualification covers the fundamentals of the uniformed protective services sector and is designed to support learners who want to progress in a career in a diverse range of areas in the emergency services (police, fire and rescue) or the armed services (army, royal air force, royal navy and royal marines). This is a two year study programme which is equivalent to 3 A Levels, however a one year option is also available which is equivalent to 1.5 A Levels. Both programme years will accrue UCAS points should your chosen progression route be a UK university. A large portion of the weekly timetable is conducted at Rosliston Forestry Centre. This fast paced course will allow you to develop your personal confidence and resilience alongside the technical skills the services require and to make you stand out from the crowd in interviews. Whilst on the study programme learners can complete real life expeditions such as: Coast to Coast Cycle Ride (cycling expedition) Snowdonia (climbing expedition) The Orange House, Spain (climbing expedition) A range of work experience, industry engagement, visits and expeditions enhance the classroom-based sessions to advance learners, understanding and the nature of possible future careers within the proactive services and link together a number of different units. These include the following visits and experiences: British Army Royal Marines Commando London, Houses of Parliament, Education Centre London, Imperial War Museum Emergency Services Show, National Exhibition Centre Joint Services Major Incident Exercise Charity event helping to raise funds for the Air Ambulance West Midlands Counter Terrorist Team West Midlands Ambulance Service, Emergency Operation Centre British Transport Police Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service
