This is a two year study programme which is equivalent to 3 A Levels, however a one year option is also available which is equivalent to 1.5 A Levels. Both programme years will accrue UCAS points should your chosen progression route be a UK university. This intense two-year is designed to equip you with the skills and qualities needed to be successful in the coaching, fitness or sport science industry. It will help you to develop an understanding of a broad range of sport and exercise topics. During the course, you will have opportunities to complete a number of sports coaching qualifications, go on visits to St. Georges Park and gain work experience through our community partners. After successful progression onto the second year of the programme, you can choose a specific pathway tailored to your career goals: An intense coaching and exercise science route which allows you to achieve the equivalent of 3 A Levels, developing an understanding on a broad range of topics. An intense fitness industry based pathway designed to develop the skills and experience required to work within the fitness industry. On completion of the course, you will achieve the equivalent of 2 A Levels and a YMCA Level 1 Award in Fitness and Physical Activity. As part of your programme, you will participate in a number of varied enrichment activities, trips and visits. Real life environment assessments are a feature within the qualification. Learners have access to our gym facilities at Fleet Street Fitness. The space is used weekly for delivery, assessment and personal fitness development.
