Enville Golf Club, close to Stourbridge, are looking to recruit a Greenkeeping Apprentice to assist with the day-to-day set up and maintenance of the course, all the related practice facilities and planted areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with a keen interest in golf and greenkeeping.
The role is varied, and the duties would include:
- Maintaining both courses to a high standard
- Once trained, mow greens and other surfaces
- Topdressing and treating turf
- Seeding
- Renovating and maintaining bunkers
- Maintaining the practice area
- Servicing machinery
- General maintenance work

Expected Start DateMonday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm in the summer, 7:30am to 4:00pm in the winter, a 30-minute break a day (unpaid). These hours may vary depending on the season, but this will be discussed during your interview.

Training will be provided in the workplace through Myerscough College, where you will work towards the Golf Greenkeeper Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard. The Apprenticeship is made up of a number of different nationally recognised qualifications, which are as follows:
- City & Guilds Certificate in Golf Greenkeeping - The qualification is made up of a number of mandatory units designed to have maximum relevance to the job & integrate with day-to-day responsibilities.
- End point assessment, conducted by an independent assessor, which include:
1. Knowledge test (30% of grading)
2. Personal statement & portfolio of evidence (20% of grading)
3. Course walk & practical end assessment 5 – 6 hours (50% of grading)
- There will be 3 levels of achievement: Pass, Merit & Distinction.
