Matt The Brick is looking for an Apprentice Bricklayer to join his team working on contracts around Wolverhampton and the West Midlands. You will learn all aspects of Bricklaying whilst working towards a Bricklayer Level 2 Apprenticeship.
Whilst working at Matt The Brick your duties will include:
- Laying bricks according to plans, spreading mortar, using a trowel, cutting bricks to size, and ensuring proper alignment with tools like spirit levels and plumb lines
- Measuring work areas, setting out the first rows of bricks, preparing the foundation for brickwork
- Manually digging trenches to start the foundation for the bricklaying to commence
- Mixing mortar by hand or with a machine, loading and unloading bricks and other materials
- Adhering to site safety regulations, using proper protective gear, and reporting any hazards
- Observing and assisting skilled workers, gaining knowledge of different bricklaying techniques, and best practices
- Any other duties outlined by your team leader
